| Following the fall of the Berlin Wall, dance in Central and East European countries – as was the case with theatre earlier – has gradually attempted to free itself from overpowering traditions and structures. Numerous encounters with and many trips by European partners have led to a better knowledge of the diverse new approaches and to the emergence of a young generation that has begun to take its history in its own hands, to occupy alternative sites and to initiate independent processes of production. Sol.East – as a co-production within the framework of THEOREM – attempts a kind of stocktaking of this artistic development. | ||
