Following the fall of the Berlin Wall, dance in Central and East European countries as was the case with theatre earlier has gradually attempted to free itself from overpowering traditions and structures. Numerous encounters with and many trips by European partners have led to a better knowledge of the diverse new approaches and to the emergence of a young generation that has begun to take its history in its own hands, to occupy alternative sites and to initiate independent processes of production. Sol.East as a co-production within the framework of THEOREM attempts a kind of stocktaking of this artistic development. |
