SASHA WALTZ BERLIN
INSIDEOUT
Sasha Waltz has developed her new work, "insideout", in collaboration with twenty performers and ten musicians from Asia, Europe, and North and South America. The interdisciplinary production was conceived as part of the program for this year's "European Cultural Capital GRAZ 03." Taking the dancers' life stories as a starting point, the piece revolves around the themes of changing values, lifestyles, and status symbols. "insideout" is concert, dance performance, and installation all in one – a complex exhibition through which the audience can move freely. Composer Rebecca Saunders has written her first stage composition for the work.

Co-produced by Graz 2003 – European Cultural Capital and Steirischer Herbst and supported by Kulturstiftung des Bundes. musikFabrik, Ensemble für Neue Musik receives support from Ministerium für Städtebau und Wohnen, Kultur und Sport, NRW.

World Premiere: September 18, 2003 in Graz, Austria
Berlin Premiere: October 9, 2003
