EMRE KOYUNCUOGLU ISTANBUL
HOME SWEET HOME
This documentary was filmed as part of a performance in Diyarbakir, Turkey, in which actors/dancers from Istanbul, Izmit, and Ankara as well as "ordinary" inhabitants of Diyarbakir participated. The basic concept of the performance was to capture, in image and sound, moments and states that reveal local colors on stage while exploring the meaning of the concept "home." Bygone eras are echoed in the subjective histories recounted by three generations that have lived in the region. Emre Koyuncuoglu will share with the audience her experience in mounting this new work as well as speak of the turkish dance and theatre scene in general.
