Boyzie Cekwana, raised in the townships of Johannesburg and trained in traditional South African dance, founded his own company "The Floating Outfit Project" in 1997 with the goal of breaking open and transforming the traditions of African dance.

In his new piece CUT!! reference to the social reality of South Africa, still marked by the apartheid regime, are clearly present: traditional and modern dance, gestures, music, cultural traditions and identities are contrasted and driven to the point of implosion.
