Meg Stuart invites ... The setting is a large scale table where performers and audience alike sit as if in a conference situation. The aim is to open a space for issues of performance and improvisation in a ‘skin-tight’ format that pairs action with reflection. On the first evening, male performers will chair the event; while on the second evening female performers will make the tables turn. At the turntables are DJ Hahn Rowe and Eavesdropper.

The impetus for AUF DEN TISCH was provided by a remarkable improvisation event in Belgium last fall, when Boris Charmatz, Benoît Lachambre, Meg Stuart, musician Hahn Rowe, and moderator Myriam Van Imschoot used this performance set-up for the first time. AUF DEN TISCH is Meg Stuart’s first curatorial improvisation project since the CRASH LANDING SERIES (1996-1999).

Meg Stuart and Damaged Goods have been regular guests at Tanz im August for many years. Berlin audiences have acclaimed them for shows such as ALIBI (2002), VISITORS ONLY (2003), and FORGERIES, LOVE AND OTHER MATTERS (2004).
