Meg Stuart (Berlin/Bruessels) Choreographic Window - Scholarship Project Meg Stuart (1965, New Orleans) has been a frequent guest of Tanz im August since 1992. Last year she, Benoît Lachambre and Hahn Rowe performed their internationally acclaimed work “FORGERIES, LOVE AND OTHER MATTERS” at the festival. Since 1994, Meg Stuart and her Brussels based company Damaged Goods have produced a number of stage works including “appetite”, “ALIBI” and “Visitors Only”. From 2001 until 2004 Meg Stuart and Damaged Goods were artists-inresidence at Schauspielhaus Zürich. From 2003 on the company also started a partnership with Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz in Berlin. Meg Stuart’s choreographic forum will give four choreographers from Africa, Israel and Berlin the opportunity to research choreographic strategies during an intensive eight day work period. The short works resulting from this meeting will be presented to the public in an informal context at the end of the eight days. Participation in this project is by invitation only.
