Nun kommt er mit seiner international besetzten Compagnie par b.l.eux erneut nach Berlin, um ein ungewöhnliches Stück zu präsentieren. LUGARES COMUNES beginnt an einem undefinierten Ort: eine Wartehalle, ein futuristischer Flughafen für Raumschiffe? Zehn Figuren treffen dort aufeinander – (ab)wartend – und beginnen eine gemeinsame Bewegung: zunächst unsichtbar, dann fließend, schließlich abrupt. Trotz ihrer verschiedenen Sprachen kommen sie miteinander ins Gespräch, scheinen sich zu verstehen. Sie erzählen vom menschlichen Körper, seinem Atmungssystem, seinen Gedanken, unserem Alltag. Zu einer atmosphärischen Klangkomposition von Laurent Maslé verknüpft LUGARES COMUNES die Frivolität eines futuristischen Musicals mit der Kühnheit von Science-Fiction. After the environmental, curatorial projects NOT TO KNOW (with Andrew Harwood) and 100 RENCONTRES, and the close triangle of FORGERIES, LOVE AND OTHER MATTERS (the much appraised piece with Meg Stuart and Hahn Rowe), Canadian choreographer Benoît Lachambre takes a group of 10 performers to the frontal setup of the classical theater space in order to meet with a large audience. Instead of emphasizing difference and separation, the aim is to inhabit the T-junction of meeting. What is communality, what do we ultimately share when we move beyond the shields of our self? LUGARES COMUNES is the test ground for empathy, influence and new social organisms of collective bodies and cohabitation; it spins the frivolity of a futuristic musical, the boldness of science fiction with the yarn of utopian thought.
