EUR 8 /// 50 MIN 23 + 24 AUG / 21.00 h Der chinesische Choreograf Dick Wong erforscht in B.O.B.*–THE FINAL CUT nach den Regeln der „stillen Post“ verbale und körperliche Übersetzungs- und Interpretationssysteme. Der erste Tänzer bewegt sich, der Zweite beschreibt, der Dritte übersetzt das Gehörte erneut in Bewegung. Jeder übernimmt im Wechsel die verschiedenen Rollen und Funktionen. B.O.B. (Body O Body!) verhandelt klug und amüsant kulturelles Missverstehen, verbale Übertragungsfehler, Störungen und Interferenzen zwischen Körpern und Identitäten. Dick Wong begann während seines Journalismusstudiums zu tanzen. Eigene Choreografien entwickelt er seit den 90er Jahren, u.a. I ONLY WANT YOU TO LOVE ME, BODY / LANGUAGE (VERSION 2.0) und 12748 A BODY ODYSSEY. Er arbeitete mit Zuni Icosahedron, Edward Lam Dance Theatre, Three Colors und People Mountain People Sea. Seine Stücke wurden in Asien und Europa präsentiert. In B.O.B.*– THE FINAL CUT, Dick Wong and two accomplices work with „distorting mirrors.“ One performer moves, the second describes, and the third, without looking at the original, gives his interpretation of what the second is describing. They each take turns creating, transmitting, and interpreting. The aim of the game is to provoke laughter, while also prompting us to reflect on such issues as how we perceive other cultures, what we imagine others to be thinking, etc. In the end, a shared gestural repertoire emerges from these ambiguities and comical misunderstandings – an „intelligence of the body.“ Konzept / Regie / Licht: Dick Wong.
