EUR 15 / 12,50 / 10 /// 70 MIN 25 + 26 AUG / 20.00 h Für sein international gefeiertes Stück BORROWED LIGHT hat sich der finnische Choreograf Tero Saarinen von der Ästhetik und den traditionellen Liedern und Tänzen der Shaker, einer radikal-prostestantischen Religionsgemeinschaft aus dem 18. Jahrhundert, inspirieren lassen. Gemeinsam mit dem Vokalensemble The Boston Camerata bewegen sich acht Tänzer durch einen mystisch ausgeleuchteten, schwarz-weißen Bühnenraum und erzählen in weit ausgreifenden kraftvollen Bewegungen von Gemeinschaft, Einsamkeit, Protest und Aufopferung. Tero Saarinen ist Finnlands erfolgreichster Choreograf. Er war Ballettsolist am Finnish National Ballet, bevor er 1992 in Japan zwei Jahre bei dem legendären Kazuo Ohno Butoh Tanz studierte. BORROWED LIGHT draws its inspiration from the songs and dances of the revolutionary Shaker movement of the 18th and 19th century. The eight dancers are accompanied by the vocal ensemble The Boston Camerata. “Dance is my attempt to understand human nature and its multiple manifestations – friendship, love, the strength of spirit. Even though I believe in constant change and evolution, simultaneously I feel deep respect for the tradition and the past: we can‘t avoid carrying our ance-stors‘ heritage in our mind and in our body. With my dance I want to reach the unsaid, the inexplicable, the unnamed.
