JANET PANETTA /// New York The Deconstruction of Ballet 20 – 24 AUG + 27 – 31 AUG /// 10 – 11.45 h /// English /// 140 EUR These classes focus on the deconstruction of movement into technical basics that dancers from varied backgrounds can understand. Everyone learns. We work from the bottom up, from foundation to anatomically sound, honest movement. It is the investigation of working from the inside out, from placing the bones where the muscles are allowed to function effortlessly and efficiently, thus discouraging muscular overuse. The ultimate goal is to appreciate function as beauty. To understand, for example, that legs and feet that work correctly become beautiful, and not to strive for beauty from an outside source. This is a practical, technical course, not just a theory lesson. Everything discussed gets reconstructed back into movement. Im Mittelpunkt dieses Workshops steht die Dekonstruktion von Bewegung in technische Grundelemente, die Tänzer mit unterschiedlichem Erfahrungshintergrund verstehen können. Wir untersuchen Besonderheiten des Lernens und wie Bewegung mit Hilfe der Werkzeuge Gewicht, Form, Raum, Rhythmus und Zeit analysiert werden kann. Wir streifen alle künstlichen Betonungsmechanismen ab und konzentrieren uns allein auf die Kerntechnik, die reine physische Architektur des Körpers. Janet Panetta has trained dancers of many major American companies, such as New York City Ballet, Paul Taylor Dance Company, and Merce Cunningham Dance Company, and has been a guest teacher for many European companies, such as Maguy Marin / CCN Rillieux-la-Pape, Philippe Decouflé / Compagnie DCA and Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker / Rosas, as well as in the schools P.A.R.T.S. and CCN Montpellier / Mathilde Monnier. She received her training with Antony Tudor, Margaret Craske and Alfredo Corvino and has been dancing with The Metropolitan Opera Ballet and American Ballet Theater, among others.
