Das renommierte Ballet de Lorraine tanzt eine der großen Kompositionen des im vergangenen Jahr verstorbenen Komponisten Karlheinz Stockhausen. Zu einem Skandal geriet 1967 die Kölner Uraufführung von HYMNEN: Stockhausen komponierte eine gewaltige Klangwelt aus elektronischer und konkreter Musik, Alltags- und Industriegeräuschen und verarbeitete 40 Nationalhymnen die am Ende in die utopische Überhymne Pluramon münden. Die Partitur spiegelt eindrucksvoll Stockhausens Sehnsucht nach Weltversöhnung und erdumspannender Verständigung. Die brasilianische Choreografin Lia Rodrigues, der französische Choreograf Didier Deschamps und der Maler Gérard Fromanger, eine zentrale Figur des neuen Realismus in Frankreich, loten zusammen mit den 30 Tänzern des Ballet de Lorraine dieses komplexe musikalische Werk aus und transformieren es zu einem elektronischen Gemälde.
“This invitation is a challenge. It proposes a meeting of artists from very different artistic realities and worlds: the painter Gérard Fromanger, the Ballet de Lorraine’s dancers and myself, Lia Rodrigues, a choreographer. Didier Deschamps suggested that we explore a common theme: HYMNEN, a score by Stockhausen. This musical piece symbolizes the 1960s and is still as powerful now as it was then. The score creates a world of sound and movement in space. Even its author calls it ‘stage music’, comparing it to ‘a figurative musical painting’ and a ‘sound projection’. Stockhausen speaks of transmutation, integration, fusion and building a space of perception. These words might be the key to the creation of this piece; the creation of a space that belongs to us all, a space composed of a multiplicity of bodies, colors and words.” (Lia Rodrigues)
