Eine Videoinstallation des britischen Autor, Theater-, und Installationskünstlers Tim Etchells und der kroatischen Videokünstlerin Vlatka Horvat. Nebeneinander, vor einem Spiegel sitzend beleidigen und loben sie sich gegenseitig eine volle Stunde lang.
The performance of this relentless verbal task is evidently live, an improvised sequence of insults and praises which flow readily at times and falter at others, leaving the two silent, struggling for a new direction.
Insults & Praises is a collaboration between Tim Etchells and Vlatka Horvat, developed during their residency at IASPIS (International Artists’ Studio Program in Stockholm). |

Sensation 1 spielt mit den skulpturalen Aspekten des Körpers und stellt den Mund als stummes Gesangsorgan in den Mittelpunkt. Seiner Funktion als Klangkörper beraubt, entstehen zahlreich wechselnde Bilder, vom stummen Jammern bis hin zu ekstatischer Freude.

This single gesture of singing extended through time explodes its references to singing as such and creates a different kind of affect altogether. A sculptural choreography takes form, what is left is an abstractly sensing body articulating a particular sensation of the sensational.

For the opening of the sommer.bar, and among the twinkling lights of micro-fireworks, it will try to manifold. Becoming This is the hello monster ! and the experimental amateur choir, an avant-pop solo band, with a choir.

In seinem Solo erforscht Robert Steijn den Blick auf die Welt durch die Augen eines Hirsches. In manchen schamanistischen Bräuchen steht der Hirsch als Symbol dafür, dem Herzen zu folgen, gleichzeitig ist er aber auch das Tor zu anderen Realitäten, die außerhalb des Sichtbaren liegen.

Robert Steijn invites the audience to witness his transformation into the energy of a deer. As a kid he lived close to a forest in Holland where he could observe deer behavior. His wish is to organize a festival for everyone around the world, who got a call to dance like a deer. |

The main character of León’s movie is Serge, a teacher of acting for children. His
teaching methods are a combination of patience with strictness and abuse of power.
Life and acting seem to become one. As he educates the children, he also shows their
parents how they project their own dreams onto their kids'. In this fantastic movie
the boundaries of fiction and documentary totally blur into one another. A must
to see!

THIS IS THE HELLO MONSTER !, Konzert
Seit seinem allerersten Konzert in der sommer.bar 2007, entwickelte Gérald Kurdian sein einzigartiges musikalisches Profil bestehend aus live solo Klavier, Synthesizer, Spielzeugen, kombiniert mit unglaublichem Gesang. Er bewegt sich zwischen geisterhaften lo-fi Liederabenden und einem Dschungel grüner Topfpflanzen.
Sein erstes Album wurde zum Album des Jahres 2010 von der Zeitung Libération gewählt.

Ein Recherche Projekt innitiert bei Lola Rubio, Arantxa Martínez, Yara Burkhalter und Severine Rième mit dem Ziel der Erweiterung der Sinne und der Wahrnehmung dessen, was wir „Sichtbarkeit“ nennen und folglich, was wir als Bild verstehen.

Starting from the premise that the body is simultaneously display and image - himself’s, his own’s fiction, others’... - we want to look at, and produce, the contents of the image by altering the usual relationship between body and context.
These contents result from relating the body to the surrounding objectual context that the scenography proposes; from overcoming the functionality of the object and allowing the inanimate object and environment to influence the definition and perception of one’s own body
The Present is a long-term project that highlights a dialogue between investigation, production and debate. During the sommer.bar the complete project will be held along with a residency, a performance and an open workshop.

FIELD WORKS - OFFICE, Performance von Heine Røsdal Avdal & Yukiko Shinozaki / deepblue
Field Works – office passt sich an den jeweiligen Ort bzw. die Stadt in der es gezeigt wird an. Es lebt von der Mystik und Poetik der spezifischen Umgebung. Wie beeinflusst die Umgebung unser Verhalten, was für Auswirkungen hat sie auf unsere Bewegungen? Zu Gast im Büro des HAU wird jeder Zuschauer mit einem anderen Erlebnis nach Hause gehen.

In their playful performances, Avdal and Shinozaki are looking for the poetry of the everyday life. It’s a project which unravels the conventions of non-theatrical spaces. With small shifts in reality, they create dreamy, absurd in-between worlds. It has the power to stimulate our imagination.
Field Works – office is a part of performance series, which seek to infiltrate different terrains and strata of society with artistic work. Codes and conventions in different type of spaces are explored and discussed. Every location generates certain kind of expectations and preconceptions of how we act in that specific space.

DEPRODUCTION, Performance von Perrine Valli
Während eines Aufenthalts in Tokyo arbeitete Perrine Valli in einer eher ungewöhnlichen Weise. Sie ging von einem sehr japanischen Konzept aus: die Erfahrung der Leere. Nach und nach traf sie auf Menschen und begann sich für ihre Lebens- und Arbeitssituation zu interessieren.

Exchanging mutual experiences Valli was struck by the difference in the professional situation for Japanese and European dancers. Four productions directly linked to the experience in Tokyo are gathered together under the title of "Deproduction".

HALT MIR MEINEN PLATZ FREI BIS ICH ANDERS WIEDER DA BIN (SAVE MY SPOT TILL I'M BACK, DIFFERENT), Performance, Installation, Gespräch von TWO FISH
Martin Clausen und Angela Schubot haben als TWO FISH in den letzten 10 Jahren wesentlich die Berliner Tanz- und Theaterszene mitgeprägt. Im März 2011 präsentierten sie unter diesem Label ihr letztes Stück und lösten es auf. Als sympathisch schlechte Naturimitation, durch dessen Risse charmant die Natur durchsuppt, beklagen sie feiernd Abschied und Regeneration. In drei unterschiedlichen Formaten (Textinstallation, SUPERendVISION und einem Ausschnitt aus ihrem letzten Stück) denken sie nun über die vergangenen 10 Jahre nach.

Die Performance entfaltet sich in Form einer seltsam klinischen Disco, eine bildreich zwielichtige Zone, in der die Tänzerin Hillary Blake Firestone und ihr Musiker Mark Morse mit trockenem Humor versuchen die Logik der organisierten Fröhlichkeit zu demontieren. Wir werden Zeugen eines lustig und gleichsam traurigen Schauspiels, einer Soloparade, einer unaufhaltsam untergehenden Party, alles trägt den Hauch von Verfall.

CHASTITY post porn trash folk, Konzert
Das Berliner Gesangs-Duo besteht aus der extrem gut aussehenden Sängerin Chastity und ihrem hässlichen Bruder Cell. Ihr äußerst origineller Stil kombiniert rohe Lagerfeuergitarre mit komplexem Harmoniegesang, eine außergewöhnliche Bühnenpräsenz mit Texten so intelligent wie explizit.
Chastity tritt nur in Begleitung ihrer Katze Cleopatra, ihres Hundes Clito und unter dem Schutz ihres Bodyguard Curd auf.

In his work he explores the relations between what happens inside and outside the body: how inner processes manifest themselves externally and how the exterior influences what is within.
