Im Mentoring-Kurs mit Michael Laub werden sich die Teilnehmer in einem performativen Kontext mit Elementen ihrer eigenen Biografie beschäftigen. Grundlage und Mittel der Auseinandersetzung sind Materialien wie Videoaufnahmen, Bilder, autobiografische Texte und Bewegungsrecherchen zum individuellen Ausdruck. Ziel des SELF-PORTRAIT-Projekts ist es, das von den Teilnehmern mitgebrachte Rohmaterial weiterzuentwickeln und zuzuspitzen, um so herauszuarbeiten, was den Performer in seinem Solo als einzigartig kennzeichnet. Zu Beginn jeden Kurstages wird Astrid Endruweit mit den Teilnehmern ein Körper- und Performancetraining durchführen. The objective of the mentoring is to stage a non-competitive event in which the participants can approach elements of their own personal biographies, making use of various materials such as home movies, photographs, autobiographical texts, and studies of characteristic patterns of movement. The SELF-PORTRAIT project will attempt to develop and frame raw material presented by the participants in order to highlight what makes each individual unique within the context of an eventual solo performance. Astrid Endruweit will direct the participants in a physical performance training at the beginning of each day. Michael Laub founded Remote Control Productions in 1981; since then he has focused on exploring the relationship between fiction and reality and between the private and the public. In addition to creating large-scale productions such as TOTAL MASALA SLAMMER (2001), Laub has translated his interest in portraiture work such as PORTRAITS 360 SEK (2002), or most recently, PORTRAIT SERIES. ALONE/ GREGOIRE (Tanz im August 2005), which focused on biographical material developed by company members Astrid Endruweit and Greg Zuccolo. Berlin artist Astrid Endruweit has studied Butoh, Kung Fu, shamanistic voice training and other techniques, and has been working with Michael Laub / Remote Control Productions since 2001, when she won international acclaim for her performance in PIGG IN HELL.
