Beethovens dritte Sinfonie und die Ouvertüre von Mozarts frühem Singspiel BASTIEN / BASTIENNE bilden die musikalischen Pole für einen leidenschaftlich und humorvoll getanzten Reigen menschlicher Sehnsüchte und Verführungsstrategien. Die im Juni 2006 uraufgeführte Neuinszenierung zeigt die ungebrochene Faszination und Kraft dieses Werks aus dem Jahr 1990, das schon damals begeistert gefeiert wurde und seine Choreografin berühmt machte. Michèle Anne De Mey arbeitete sechs Jahre als Tänzerin und Choreografin mit Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker zusammen, bevor sie 1990 ihre Compagnie gründete. 2005 wurde sie in das künstlerische Leitungsteam von CHARLEROI / DANSES berufen. Now restaged for a cast of nine, the work‘s power and energy remain undiminished. “I wanted to revive SINFONIA EROICA because I am very fond of it. This performance has been important to me, for my work, and for the company, and audiences received it very warmly.“ (Michèle Anne De Mey) In 1990, Le Soir wrote: “The assurance of the composition, its sunny theatricality and the luminous generosity of the dancer-individuals impart a fragile and overwhelming humanity to SINFONIA EROICA. The dancing is joyous, euphoric, playful, and polished in a way that is both light and melancholy.
